Amidst the hustle and bustle of our thrice postponed end-semester examination, I came across a poster inviting students for a peer-to-peer learning drive by Pehia Foundation. Without having any second thoughts, I grabbed the opportunity. Honestly speaking I didn’t even notice the tech stack until I was selected :’)

‘Django’ it seems. Having absolutely zero knowledge on python, I thought it would be difficult. So, I started learning Python fundamentals, because I’m not someone who quits something without giving it a shot.

The best thing about this learning drive is that we have sessions only during the weekend, or else..

Mr. Vishnu Anilkumar, our mentor, had the patience of a saint. The cohort consists of Blessy, Madhuri and I as the mentees. We shared our screen while Vishnu patiently debugged our code and pointed out where we went wrong. I’m pretty sure that if it wasn’t for Vishnu, all three of us would have left the project halfway.

Week one covered the basics of Django, like how to install Django and get started with it, how to build a basic app using Django, the basics of Postman, and some worksheets on python. With week one done, I’m eagerly looking forward to what Vishnu has planned for us next week :)
